Emma received her diploma in Fine Arts from Montreal’s Dawson College, followed by a BFA from Montreal’s Concordia University. Pursuing her lifelong love of animation, she leveraged her degree into a spot at Oakville’s Sheridan College and earned a certificate in Computer Animation. Her career as an animator for film and television kept her busy for the next ten years (watch her demo reel here). Eventually, Emma took a lengthy break in order to raise her family, and at the same time, reconnect with her first creative love, Fine Art. She has been happily painting or drawing away ever since.
Despite her Alma Mater’s best efforts, Emma’s artistic references have remained decidedly pop-culture-influenced. They range from vintage illustration and fashion magazines to pattern catalogues to cartoons and comics – including a deep and abiding love for Archie comics and the safe and reliable alternate reality that they represent.
Emma divides her time between computer animation and making pretty pictures. She lives and works in Montreal, Canada.
