Lady Hamilton Study

Lady Hamilton portrait study, Photoshop, 2016

Study of a George Romney portrait of Lady Emma Hamilton, because I love “That Hamilton Woman”, and we Emmas need to stick together.

Also, if I could just find that One.  PERFECT.  Brush. these digital studies would go a lot faster…

Back in the game!

Commission: Duke & Falcon – The Rift.  Photoshop, 2016

I’ve been pretty quiet lately, but I’ve been busy!  Not only have I been on the hunt for a job, but I also had to wrap up this commission for a long-time loyal client.  I’m always happy to  come up with new G.I.Joe art, and the money I made from it paid for a new pair of ankle boots – just in time for a job interview!  Huzzah!

“Trish” reborn

Trish v7c TUMBLR INSTAWell, this gal has had quite the makeover!  You may remember her as the painting that refused to cooperate, but I just didn’t want to let her go.  After all, I’d put so much work into her!  So when I went back to it, I decided to change up a few things, colour-wise.  I think she looks better this way (also, she looks meaner, which is not a bad thing).

Her bio reads thusly: “Young co-ed superhero whose superhero power is the ability to have an unbelievably large circle of friends, admirers, and hangers-on, and this despite the fact that she’s never been particularly nice to anyone.  Like, EVER.  Also, no one is exactly sure where she lives.”

A new direction!

Violet v3a FLAT TUMBLR INSTA

I decided to stop making things harder for myself, and finally give in to the siren call of Photoshop.  I’ve been playing around with flat colour and cleaner graphics, and I’m digging it!

Allow me to introduce you all to Violet, whose superpowers include (but are not limited to) being able to balance a pre-med program, helping out in her family’s corner store on the week-ends, and attending any record listening party she can.

Prints, etc. are available on Society6!

Jon x Sansa in the style of Mary Blair

Jon and Sansa Blair v1b FLAT

I never knew that trying to keep an image simple could be so challenging, but I’m really happy with how this turned out!  Done as a thank you for having reached a certain Follower milestone on Tumblr using Kyle T. Webster’s Gouache brushes for Photoshop.

Available as a print and so much more on my Society6 shop!

Artistic Output of 2016… so far!

Best of 6 months 2016 part1 small

As we approach the halfway point of 2016, I thought it would be cool to assemble all (or most of) the artwork I’ve produced so far this year and get a better sense of where I want to go next. Continue reading

Jon x Sansa – WIP

Jon and Sansa Redux v1a

I really want to do a companion piece to my Sandor & Sansa portrait, but I’m having a tough time coming up with a compelling composition (not surprising considering how Sandor and Sansa are just kinda standing there, so… not much wiggle room, knowhutimean?).  In the meantime, please enjoy Battle Armour Sansa and Jon Snow v2.0 (Targaryen edition).

If anyone has any suggestions, please chime in!
